numerous wood engraved illustrations by Thomas Bewick, some scattered spotting, all edges gilt, contemporary polished full calf gilt, rubbed and a little wear to joints and head and foot of spine, with upper cover detached, contemporary bookplate of W. Combes to front pastedown, a wide-margined copy, marbled front and end papers, 8vo, 24,5 x 15 cm, and another woodcut pasted down on end paper. 483pp. See the pictures for overall condition.
Together with another copy ofBewick's General History of Quadrupeds, 5th edition, 1807 (somewhat worn with upper cover missing), 20 x 13 cm, half leather over marbled boards (but front one missing), raised bands on spine with gilt title and all page ends gilt. Marbled front and end papers. 526pp.
