About This Item
Art Publication Society. Good. 1917 revised edition Art Publication Society (St. Louis, Missouri), 10 1/2 x 14 inches tall paperbound in illustrated wraps, 6 pp. Slight soiling and edgewear to covers, with a music store price stamp and chipped upper tip to front cover and a 3/4-inch closed tear to the rear cover. Otherwise, apart from age toning, a very good copy - clean and unmarked - of this scarce score. Sheet music prefaced by a biographical sketch, method of study and form and harmonic analysis of the piece, and is followed by a set of nine questions for use in an instructional setting. ~SP17~ Giovanni Battista Martini, (1706-1784), also known as Padre Martini, or Giambattista Martini, was an Italian Conventual Franciscan friar, who was a leading musician and composer of the period. This version of the piece was edited and revised by Emil Georg Conrad von Sauer (1862-1942), a notable German composer, pianist, score editor and music (piano) teacher. Sauer was a pupil of Franz Liszt and one of the most distinguished pianists of his generation.
