Whitman Publishing Division, Racine, Wisconsin, 1968. First Edition. Hardcover. Ordinary/No Dust Jacket. Illustrator: Harvey Kidder. 211 pages, last blank, 2 pages following further Whitman publications. Illustrated endpapers, showing the five main characters out of Garrison's Gorillas -- illustration is in black, white and purple. Within the text illustrations are executed by Harvey Kidder. Illustrated boards ( wraparound ), showing Garrison's Gorrills attacking a German stalag, with green and black writing on the front panel and spine. On the lower spine is a small black-and-white television screen and around the screen are the words " Authorised Adventure ". Bumping and chipping to the top spine edge and bumping and rubbing to the lower. Bumping and rubbing to the book corners and there is shelf wear to the lower book edges and rubbing to the other book edges. Along the front spine edge the laminate/illustration has lifted in three places measuring 0.25 ". Browning and staining of the paper edges. Browning to the endpapers and previous owner's name to the top edge of the free front endpaper. The front hinge has split for the last 1.5 " and underlying webbing can be seen. The last page of the book has become adhered to the rear paste down and the last 2.5 " of the page has also become detached. A novel based on the 1960s World War II television series -- Garrison's Gorillas. A group of soldiers/saboteurs who worked behind enemy lines in the European theatre of war.
