No previoius owner inscriptions, top edges very slightly dusty otherwise a Fine crisp clean copy in very good plus DUSTWRAPPER (dw: not price clipped, slightly darkened on spine, very lightly worn on edges, minute nick at top of lower panel with tiny mark of old sellotape on reverse now repaired with archival tape, 10 mm (½") closed tear to lower edge of lower panel, also repaired with archival tape in reverse (see images). Description:
The First UK printing published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson, London in 1964. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with very slight pushing at the spine tips. Very light toning nd spotting to the text-block. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Some slight offsetting to the blank end-papers. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. A hint of light edge wear at the upper spine tip. Light fading of the orange lettering to the spine. Light toning to the spine except where is has been protected by the wraparound band. Some very small light marks to the flaps. The 'Book Society Alternative Choice' wraparound band is complete and not faded to the spine. The Quentin Blake wrapper artwork looks striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page. The author's scarce second book. More images available on request.
