The five books of "The Very Horrendous Life of the Great Gargantua, Father of Pantagruel, Set Down of Yore by Monsieur Alcofribas, Abstractor of Quintessence," by Rabeleis. Bookplate on the front pastedown of each volume. Publisher's glassine wrappers present, though chipped and torn at the edges, and loss to the front half of Vol. I wrapper. Blue textured cloth with paper labels on the spine. Volumes are in Very Good condition, with Good or Fair glassine wrappers. Housed in the publisher's blue paper slipcase, with a paper label on the fore edge; rubbing and wear to the Fair slipcase. Very Good binding.
