Prefaced by Life of Rabelais by Henri Clouzot, illustrated by 525 vignettes by Joseph Hemard, xxvii, 808 pp. In signed Sangorski & Sutcliffe full calf binding, covers with blind rule between double gilt rules, back with five raised bands extending onto covers to terminate in trefoils. gilt lettering and double gilt rules, wide gilt ruled dentelles, decorative floral end papers, all edges gilt. Very Good, two bumps to fore edge resulting in small marginal edge tears pp. 63-104 and 535-578. light rubbing to calf at tips, front joint starting to show wear, nautical-themed bookplate of Ralph Starkweather front end page. Synopsis
