FORESTIER, J.C.N. GARDENS, A NOTE-BOOK OF PLANS AND SKETCHES. New York and London: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1924. Folio. Green cloth. x, (ii), 237 pages. First English language edition. Translated from the French by Helen Morgenthau Fox, Forestier (1861-1930), an important early twentieth century French landscape architect, presents his notebook of plans and sketches for walled gardens; backgrounds, accents, tre walls and hedges, terraces and more are addressed. Most of the designs are smaller gardens and are Spanish influenced. Numerous illustrations with-in t text. Occasional underlining in ink, owners stamp on a couple leaves, covers rubbed, still, in all a very good copy.
