About This Item
Stanley Jasspon Kunitz (1905-2006) was appointed Poet Laureate to the Library of Congress twice and awarded almost every major literary prize as well as helping found the Poets House in New York. His writings served as the basis for the Library Bill of Rights, adopted by the ALA. All of these intellectual pursuits and accomplishments were accompanied by a life-long love of gardening and the natural world, reflected in his verse. The poems selected for this lovely book concisely and cogently display the poet's love for the natural world and its necessity in his life.
