Brocklehurst. Originally published in 1901, this book of poetry was praised by prominent poets upon publication, including Thomas Hardy. Presented as translations of India poems by a man, they were authored by best-selling writer Violet Nicolson under pseudonym, who used imagery and symbols to write of unrequited love and loss. From the library of Sir Philip L. Brocklehurst, known as a member of the Nimrod Expedition in Antarctica of 1907-09 led by Ernest Shackleton. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over paper covered boards, title label to spine. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, lightly marked to boards, minor chipping to spine label. Sir Philip Brocklehurst bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
