Pages are lightly tanned with moderate foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Former owner's name to front free endpaper with a pencil inscription to paste-down. Mild cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. A few small nicks along text block edge. Plates are bright and clear, with slight tanning to edges. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping and mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a subtle forward lean. Chipping to title label.

Hardcover. hardback, large 8vo, green cloth blocked with a gilt border and lettered gilt to spine, top edge gilt, a very well preserved tightly bound copy with a clean and unmarked text, unusually this copy is complete with the original unclipped dust wrapper which is lightly marked & has small loss at head of a dulled spine, fifteen coloured illustrations by T J Rawlins, a reprint of the 1837 Ackermann edition with a new 47 page Introduction by Eric Parker. Very uncommon in the jacket..
