This is a Very Good + Copy of this book in a Handsome Leather Binding of Half Brown Calf over Green Cloth Boards with four raised bands to the spine and with burgundy moroccan title label lettered in gilt to the second compartment down the spine.All other compartments are impressively adorned with gilt patterned designs.All page edges are marbled and with rich and vibrant maroon coloured endpapers.The book has one neat school prize plate to the front pastedown of Merchant Company Schools in Edinburgh with Mathematics Prize Awarded to a Student from George Watson's College in June 1889. This copy has a firm binding with NO hinge weakness.The contents internally remain delightfully clean and free from foxing.The binding is fiorm and there is NO hinge weakness at all.The Table of contents feature History of Astronomical Discovery,Scenery of The Heavens,Physical Geography and also Geology.The hundreds of illustrations are on both Steel and wood.There are some wonderful double-page illustrations of the Planets drawn by L Dower.A truly Handsome copy that would sit well on any discerning bookcase.Thick and Heavy Octavo 804pp New Edition [1880[ Weight over 2.5 KG so some additional postage is required above the default setting. .
