Scuffed, age darkened, lightly soiled covers are still all legible except small portion of advert on back cover near tail that is partially effaced; linen backing is gone; front cover has horizontal crack near top edge; boards somewhat rubbed at edges; owner name, address (Boston) and date (1837) on front free end paper; tipped in at front end paper are two leaves with neat, contemporary, hand written recipes for mending a stove, for sore throats, for treating scalds and burns; interior has limited foxing and few small stains; neat, contemporary, hand written notes written at tail edge of 3 pages; otherwise clean interior.
