Oakland, CA: Line of March Publications, 1990. Newspaper. One hundred and fifty issues of the newspaper, a near-complete run for the entire period of its publication. Issues present are the 4/11/1983 pilot issue, Volume 1 Numbers 1-23, a special election supplement for 1984, Volume 2 Numbers 1-23, Volume 3 Numbers 1-23, Volume 4 Numbers 1-21, Volume 5 Numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5-23, Volume 6 Numbers 1-23, Volume 7 Numbers 1-10, and the two transitional issues in 1990 before it merged with North Star Review to become Crossroads (1990-1996). Various pagination, newspaper format, 8.75 x 11.5 inches folded, paper slightly browned, wraps edgeworn with some small closed tears, Volume 5 Number 7 has "Corrected Copy" writen in marker above the masthead, Volume 3 Number 5 has two small stains on the front wrap, Volume 2 Numbers 1-6 with "production room copy" written in pen above the masthead, Volume 2 Number 6 with bottom corner of rear wrap torn off with no loss of text, else generally very good condition. Biweekly newspaper (1983-1990). Heavy coverage of Rainbow Coalition and Jesse Jackson's two presidential runs, Central American issues (including Iran-Contra scandal), reproductive rights and other women's issues, labor and lesbian-gay rights rights. Published by Line of March (1980-1989), a Marxist-Leninist group which took its name from the Communist Manifesto which stated that communists "have over the great mass of the proletariat the advantage of clearly understanding the line of march, the conditions, and the ultimate results of the proletarian movement."
