Small Octavo (7 5/8 x 5 inches; 193 x 126 mm), 426 pages, in red cloth, titles in gilt to spine and upper board, with dust jacket.
Edith Wharton's novel of World War I and its devastating effects on a painter whose son is called up for duty in the French army.
CONDITION: Near Fine, with spine titles faded, in a Very Good price-clipped dust jacket with some moderate soiling to the panels, a few nicks to the spine and flap folds, a couple of closed tears to the lower panel, and a black mark to the front flap.
