Austin, Nortex Press, 1994, large format hardcover (9" x 11"), x-237 pp, First Edition stated, Fine in Very Near Fine dustjacket, Signed and inscribed by the Author in the year of publication "To Gil and Althea, 1971 Settlers, Warmest Regards, Joycina Baker Dec. 1994" on the front endpaper. Straight, tight and clean with no markings, slightest spine-end and corner wear. Dustjacket as new but for slight edge touches, light crease to rear flap. The complete history of the city of Friendswood, Texas from its inception as a small Quaker community dependent on the cultivation of figs in 1895, and published as a commemorative for the city's centennial in 1995. Profusely illustrated throughout with black-&-white photographs of significant citizens and important events. Appended: Notes, Bibliography, Index-Narrative, Index-Some of the Friendly Folks. Illustrated by John R. Johnston. Mapped endpapers.
