Includes Baron Tauchnitz; Christina Rossetti; "Owen Meredith, First Earl of Lytton"; General Booth and Charles Dickens. Frontis illus. the second Baron Tauchnitz. Red cloth cover with Gilt lettering and Decoration of front and Gilt lettering on spine. 294 p.pages, 9" tall. some edge wear and a little fraying at spine ends. Hinges sound. Penciled inscription on ffep and 3 inked initials. No other inscriptions. Half-title page browned. Several spots of light foxing to title page and several other pages have some foxing, mainly marginal.

London: Chapman and Hall Ltd, 1911. 1st. Hardback. Very Good/Fair. First edition hardback, 1911, with price-clipped jacket. In overall good to very good used condition in a fair dj with some minor signs of age, handling and storage - dj generally tanned, rubbed and chipped to edges with price to spine clipped out; red cloth boards slightly darkened and rubbed to edges. Internally clean. Binding tight and appears little read, no annotations - brief gift inscription to ffep dated 1919; light tanning to page-ends and prelims but text and illustrations bright and clear throughout. Frontispiece illustration of the Second Baron Tauchnitz retains its tissue-paper guard. Not an old library book. Photograph available.
