William Pickering, London., 1850. Fourth (i.e. fifth) edition, with the Author's last Corrections and an Appendix, and with a Synoptical Table of the Contents of the Work. Small octavo. Three volumes: pp xxii, 270; [iv], 250; [iv], 329. Period binding of full tan calf with raised bands, elaborate gilt decorated spines, gilt rules and inner dentelles, red leather title-labels and black leather volume labels, all edges gilt. Armorial gilt crest on upper covers. Marbled endpapers. On each front pastedown is an armorial bookplate, those of the second and third volumes being overlaid with another bookplate. Covers just a little marked and slightly faded at spine. Very good indeed and an attractive little set.
