Black cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine., text block edges untrimmed. 8vo. Heavy rubbing to head of spine with small loss of cloth, heel lightly rubbed. Corners lightly rubbed and rounded. Text block edges moderately tanned and foxed. Endpapers and prelims moderately foxed. Internally pages are age toned with occasional spotting, otherwise neat, clean, bright and tight. Centenary Edition, The Works of Thomas Carlyle in Thirty Volumes. Vol IV The French Revolution, III, The Guillotine.
