Description:
Washington DC: US Senate, 31st Congress, 1st Session, Ex. Doc. No. 12, 1850. This is the full map set plus the intact 25 pp report. The maps are all VG to fine condition. The report has been recased in cloth (VG+), with new enpapers and a nice map pocket at the rear, helping to preserve this increasingly scarce document. The original manuscript drawings are preserved in the National Archives (see entry #640, p. 286, vol. 3 of Wheat's "Mapping the Trans-Mississippi West..."). Map of Route Pursued by US Troops from Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Santa Fe, New Mexico, via South Side of Canadian River... (10.5x18.5 inches) 2. Map, No. 2 Showing a continuation of details of Fort Smith and Santa Fe route from Old Fort Holmes to Mounds... (10.5x19 inches) 3. Map, No. 3 Showing continuation of details of Forth SMith and Santa Fe Route… Read More
