MacMillan. 1955. thick8vo, 22cm, xvi,1136p., with 39 plates and illustrations, 2 rear folding maps, index, green cloth, maroon spine label, gilt titles, some occasion light pencil under-lining mainly at the beginning, the text is otherwise clean and sound, a very good copy (gar). ~ long regarded as a really good sound book on the subject.
