First Edition, large 8vo, 3 vols., x, [ii], 458; [iv], 443; [vi], 387pp., frontis., 18 plates, orig. cloth, spine lettered in gilt, slight sign of label having been removed from base of spines otherwise a very nice set. The largest and most comprehensive collection ever formed.

Trustees of the British Museum, London, first edition, 1903-04. 3 vols, cloth, 8vo,. x, [ii],458; [ii],443; [iv], 387 pp, 18 plates. The most important reference for bookplates up to the 19th century. The collection comprises over 35,000 bookplates. An ex-library set which would benefit cosmetically from rebinding, although the current bindings are sound and firm. With partly removed labels on the spines, labels on the front endpapers and small library stamps to the title-pages, the versos of the plates, and a few margins. Covers rubbed, the top 2.5 inches of the front joint of Volume 2 and the top half of the front joint of Vol 3 are split, the head and tail of the spine of Volume 2 are worn with some loss. Title-pages and endpapers browned and some staining to endpapers , contents otherwise Good.
