London: Edward Moxon, 1865. anonymous book of poetry by this 19th century poet & essayist who had a special interest in Victorian children's literature & who attempted to suppress the lurid street literature of the day - [ 1825-1878 ] - this copy is inscribed by the author in year of publication to Valentine Blanchard, the celebrated Victorian photographer & photographic pioneer daguerrotype artist who specialized in London & Paris street scenes - one of Friswell's books was amoung the first to be illustrated with original photographs - vg tight copy, just a bit dull at the spine - scarce .. Signed by Author. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
