Twelve volume set, comprising of a ten volume bibliography and two scarce supplemental volumes; publication datwes range from 1827 for the first volume to 1864 to the twelfth; quarter-leather with gilt tooled decorations and raised bands on spine; French text; "Des savants, historiens et gens de lettres de la France, ainsi que les litterateurs etrangers qui ont ecrit en Francais, plus particulierement pendant les XVIIIe et XIXe siecles"; cover boards and spines rubbed, fore-edge of front board of volume nine quite rubbed with some interior exposure, corners very rubbed with some interior exposure, spine ends very rubbed, top spine ends of volumes one, two, five, and twelve have shallow chips; top edges appear to have been decoratively stained, with decorative speckling on fore- and bottom edges, all of which are rather faint now; edges now lightly soiled; interiors two prior owners' ex libris on front pastedowns (volumes three, seven, eight, and ten have second ex libris on rear pastedown instead of front); marbeled endpapers with some age-toning; minor and unobtrusive cracks along front interior hinge of volume one; significant crack along gutter of first signature of volume twelve exposing the spine of the text block; pages lightly age-toned and moderately foxed, with the foxing lighter on the later volumes; bindings tight; covers, edges, and interiors intact and clean except as noted.. leather_bound.
