Boston, Little Brown & Company, 1870-1 9th, 6th & 4th editions, respectively.. Complete in 3 volumes. Hardback, approx 8 x 6 inches. Halfbound brown morocco leather to spines and corners and marbled paper to boards. Gilt line edging to boards, with raised banding and gilt paneled decorations to spines with gilt lettering. Marbled endpapers, all page edges gilt. In very good condition. Extremities a little rubbed, corners and ends of spines, corners chipped. Bookplates to endpapers "Thomas Baron Brassey." and inscribed on prelims "Thomas Brassey, 1872." Some light foxing to frontis plate in vol.1. Some light foxing to maps and adjacent pages. A couple of minor handling marks else pages clean and tight. Else a very good set. Numerous maps, some photo. 427, 463 & 425pp. Illustrated with a B&W engraved frontis portrait in vol.1., and 3 B&W engraved map plates.
