About This Item
East Aurora, NY: Roycrofters, 1909. First Edition. Paperback. Good. 4to. 14"x9". Sewn wraps. Cover portrait of Mary Wollstonecraft. Damage to wraps. Tight and clean.
This is an antique book hand-printed by the Roycrofters, the celebrated arts and crafts community of East Aurora, NY. The Fra (named after Elbert Hubbard's wise alter ego "Fra Elbertus") ran from 1908-1917 and was largely a journal of current affairs and short literary works, featuring large (and surprisingly humorous) advertisements written by Elbert and Alice Hubbard.
