London: Edwin Dalton No date specified - circa 1900. Published by "Edwin Dalton, 48, 49 & 50 Aldersgate St., London, E.C.". Printed by the Artistic Printing Co. Manchester Ltd. Altringham. Child's book that explains and illustrates 24 trades. Cloth-backed pictorial boards, blue spine, cream-coloured pasted-on paper covers. Ninety-nine thick, numbered pages having the text and illustration for each trade side-by-side on a double page, resulting in a blank double page between each trade. Wrinkled and lightly rubbed at head of spine, rubbed and frayed at heel of spine with 5/8 inch tear. Boards rubbed along edges, darkened and smudged. Cracked at ffep and at trade 6 and 8, less so at 10, 16, and 18. Backstrip pulled away from binding. No pages loose - overall book feels fairly stable. Inscription dated 1911 in ink on ffep, pages darkened - particularly around edges - moderately smudged and thumbed, 1/2 inch closed tear at top edge of page 31, 3/4 inch subtle crease on bottom edge of page 50 near hinge, subtle crease (1 inch) on page 91 and 94, 1/2 inch closed tear on fore edge of page 91, rear endpaper lifted (2 inch) at top and bottom along spine. Overall, good. Note: heavy book.. Hard Cover. Good/No DJ. Illus. by Bedford, F.D.. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
