About This Item

London: Chatto & Windus, 1926. Fine.. Signed first edition of this collection of three comedies and one drama by Milne, written at the height of his career as a playwright. Before Winnie the Pooh, Milne was "one of England's most successful, prolific and best-known playwrights for a brief period, a fact that now seems almost incredible, when so many people who know his name and love his books have no idea that he ever wrote plays" (Thwaite). This publication contains "To Have the Honour," "Ariadne," "Portrait of a Gentleman in Slippers," and "Success." Difficult to find signed. Original tan cloth, printed paper spine label. In original printed dust jacket. 265, [1] pages.
