About This Item

London, United Kingdom: The Tallis Press. Author's first crime novel published by a Company set up by the author. Tan-coloured boards advertising £500 reward for sending in the correct explanation of Sir Philip Ramon's death. A numbered form to accompany the explanation was at the back of the book and this has been detached and presumably sent off by Frank Rogerson, whose name appear on the front free endpaper, together with the date of 1905. The covers are dusty and the book has wear consistent with its age, now protected by a clear, removable cover. Weysprings Books is a Member of: the IOBA and PBFA, and subscribes to their Codes of Ethics. . Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1905.

Synopsis

When the Foreign Secretary Sir Philip Ramon receives a threatening, greenish-grey letter signed FOUR JUST MEN, he remains determined to see his Aliens Extradition Bill made law. A device in the members' smokeroom and a sudden magnesium flash that could easily have been nitro-glycerine leave Scotland Yard baffled. Even Fleet Street cannot identify the illusive Manfred, Gonsalez, Pioccart and Thery - FOUR JUST MEN dedicated to punishing by death those whom conventional justice can not touch.
