About This Item

London: Printed at the Curwen Press for Cecil Palmer. 1922. Limited edition, number 359 of 500 copies printed. Limited edition, number 359 of 500 copies printed. Signed by Cecil Palmer to the limitation page. Publisher's original quarter cloth over paper-covered boards with paper title label to the spine. Illustrated with an engraved portrait frontispiece of Goldoni. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with rubbing to the boards, wear to the corners and a few marks to the spine. The contents are clean and bright throughout and remain free from any previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Four comedies by the eighteenth-century Italian playwright, including Mine Hostess (trans. Bax), The Impresario From Smyrna (trans. Bax), The Good Girl (trans. Marguerite Tracy), and The Fan (trans. Herbert and Eleanor Farjeon). A typically pleasing production by the Curwen Press. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
