About This Item
New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1908. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Orange cloth with red lettering and front board with red, black and brown pictorial stamping. vii, 341pp. Tissue-guarded partly-color frontispiece, line drawings, 3 full-page partly-color plates (as called for). Very good. Mild edgewear and moderate rubbing; rear inner hinge starting but expertly, archivally strengthened, thus strong. A tight, nice first edition, internally near fine, of this juvenile football tale. Catchy front board graphic, though well rubbed, shows a football-clutching player in interesting early uniform charging toward the viewer, several opposing players in hot pursuit.
