About This Item
1927 hardcover as pictured. This is a nicely done volume that has seen considerable wear but remains a good reading copy or candidate for rebinding. The story of the British advance against Fort Stanwix and the battle at Oriskany, the bloodiest encounter of the Revolutionary War. The British retreat at Fort Stanwix and near concurrent defeat at Saratoga marked a turning point in the war of rebellion. This book is ex-library with typical markings. Binding is intact but quite loose. The linen reinforced front hinge is separating from the text block. Green cloth boards with gold stamping show considerable edge wear with fraying at head and tail of spine and at corners. A few pages of text have pencil markings, several have smeared ink. Text includes many illustrations and photographs as well as two fold out maps, a tipped in Appendix and a tipped in Index. No dust jacket. Price reflects condition. Your purchase helps support our small village library. s
