About This Item
New York: Doubleday, Doran and Company, 1930. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. First edition stated. Novel with thriller/mystery elements from Charles Wadsworth Camp, father of children's author, Madeleine L'Engle. Camp, a WWI veteran, died in 1936 from complications due to mustard gas exposure in the war. He wrote several mystery novels, including this one, which are listed in Hubin's Bibliography of Crime fiction, as well as short stories for publications such as "College Humor" magazine, and non fiction works about the Great War. Nicely preserved copy, near fine in publisher's green cloth boards with black lettering and design. Some toning along joints and light foxing to foredge, else fine. Jacket very good with some rubbing and wear at spine ends and a 1.5" tear along bottom edge of rear joint. Some soiling to white rear panel and toning to spine, else a nice copy of this scarce jacket.
