On editor's note, loosely inserted: ""This leather-bound volume -- lavishly illustrated and complete with fold-out map of Landor's route -- has been photographically reproduced from the two volumes of the first edition, published in 1898, and thus preserves the historical authenticity of the work, including typographical errors and printing irregularities"".
