About This Item
London : Constable & Co., (1937). First edition. Young love in France - "a book which begins and ends with their farewell, under the cliff-like side of a Cunarder on the docks of Cherbourg in the rain". Crown 8vo (20cm). [viii],344pp. Original purple cloth, blocked in gilt and lettered in green across spine; top edge pink; a touch sunned; mild spotting of edges, but a very good copy in the original dust-jacket - a design in purple-red, white and black (with words from the song) - just lightly used, a touch sunned and very lightly tanned - but in very good order.
