The SR-71 is able to fly at three times the speed of sound and at altitudes of up to 80,000 ft. Colonel Graham was selected to enter the SR-71 strategic reconnaissance program in 1974 at Beale AFB, California. and then later as an instructor pilot. In 1978 was selected as the Chief, Standardization/Evaluation Division, which included the SR-71, U-2 and T-38 aircraft. Illustrated with photographs. Foreword by Jay Miller, aviation historian. Includes a pilot's checklist, list of acronmyms, index. xv, 288 pp.
