About This Item
FE. RILEY, James Whitcomb. THE FLYING ISLANDS OF THE NIGHT. Indian-apolis, IN: The Bowen-Merrill Co., 1892 (i.e. 1891). First edition, binding A, with autograph card tipped in. Octavo, stiff embossed paper wrappers in a publisher's plain dust wrapper, with only the title and author's name printed on the front panel. The book is overopened within and one of the initial blanks is detached. The wrappers are pulling away from the bookblock, with the top wrap starting. The dust jacket is heavily soiled, with small chips from the heel and crown, short edge-tears, and the front panel and fold-in are split. Nonetheless, it is scarce in the dust jacket. (BAL 16587).
