Copy of The Flowering of New England by Van Wyck Brooks, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall, 474 pp. Very slight tanning to the spine only. From "The 100 Greatest Masterpieces of American Literature" limited edition series, published under the auspices of The American Revolution Bicentennial Administration. Bound in the publisher's original red composition leather with red silk moiré endpapers and lavish gilt decoration to the spine and boards, as well as gilt lettering and four raised bands on the spine. All edges of the leaves are gilt, (a.e.g.); silk ribbon marker still attached. Illustrated by Jerry Pinkney. No wear or bumping, hinges are strong; text is clean and tight throughout. No names, writing, bookplates, notations, etc.
