Wien, Friedrich Beck, 1868. Two volumes in two. Large 8vo (22.7 x 15.0 cm). xcii, 706; iv, 339 pp. Contemporary uniform half calf over marbled boards. Spines with four raised bands with gilt lines and gilt title. Marbled edges. = A very good set of an important standard work in the Neue billige Ausgabe, which is sumptuous enough to make one wonder what the "expensive" edition must look like, if such an edition should exist. Complete, with the supplement. The first edition is rather common, this second, expanded edition much less so. Label on spine, some rubbing to the boards edges, old private owner's stamp on the front pastedowns, otherwise a very good, clean set. Very uncommon in this condition. Stafleu and Cowan, 6720.
