Illustrated throughout with full colour chromolithograph plates. The first edition in book form of this early twentieth century horticulture and garden design periodical, edited by landscape designer William Robinson, a leading advocate for the wild or natural garden, which he discusses throughout this work.Illustrated with vibrant chromolithograph plates of flowers, retaining their original tissue guards, and numerous vignette illustrations. With eighteen plates to volume I, twenty-four to volume II, and twenty-four to volume III. Collated, complete.A collection of the 'Flora and Sylva' magazine. 'Flora and Sylva' was a monthly magazine for gardeners and nature lovers.Containing all thirty three monthly issues published between April 1903 and December 1905. In the publisher's original cloth bindings. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with small split in cloth to head of front joint of volume III. Inscription to front endpaper of each volume. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with instances of spotting to pages surrounding plates, most prominent to volume III. Very Good
