Toronto: William Briggs, 1919. First edition, containing the most popular poem of the Great War. Dr. McCrae was attached to the British Army's 1st Artillery Brigade on the Ypres Saleint until June 1915, and then made Head of No. 3 General Hospital at Bolougne. Just before his death of pneumonia in January 1918, he was appointed Consulting Physician to the British Armies in France. Front inner hinge cracking, otherwise a very good copy in the rare dust jacket, somewhat soiled with chips in the edges at a few places and with a closed tear in the back panel. 8vo, illustrated, original cloth, dust jacket.
