New York: D. Appleton-Century Company, 1935. First Edition (stated). . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Caswell, Edward C.. Bound in beige cloth with titles and decorations stamped in red. First edition, with corresponding dates to the title and copyright pages and a one in parentheses (1) on the last page of text. 275 pages; no ads. With a frontispiece and three internal illustrations by Edward C. Caswell. The cloth shows only light wear at the corners and spine ends; there is a touch of soil. Old gift inscription partially blacked out on the front free endpaper, otherwise unmarked. Hinges solid; binding square. A clean, tight copy. A boy goes to work in a gas station, with union agitation as part of this Depression-era story. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall
