Description:
Los Angeles: Bantam Publications, Inc. / L.A. Bantam # 23 , 1940 ----------vintage paperback. This is a 100-page abridged edition of "Tarzan AND the Forbidden City". It is an important book, as it is the first Edgar Rice Burroughs title to be published as a paperback. There are at least 3 cover variants of this title, 2 with text only covers, and this one, with an illustrated/pictorial cover by an unknown artist. Zeuschner 570. All 3 variants are rare, with this pictorial cover variant, apparently the rarest of all. In fact, it is one of the rarest of all paperbacks. Slight spine tilt, cover creases, edgewear, 2 small scuffs to the illustrated lion, tiny (1/4 inch) split to spine bottom, a good copy.. .. Mass Market Paperback. Good. Note: our prices on Biblio are the LOWEST of any of the sites on which we list our books.

Description:
1818. Manuscript. Good. No Binding. Signed by Author(s). This is 16.5" by 20.5" military commission to Mr. Henry Burr to be "duly appointed Gent. Brigade Inspector of Infantry in the Militia of this [ ] with the rank of Major." Oliver Wolcott, Esquire, is described as "Captain-General and Commander in Chief, in and over the State of Connecticut in , The United States of America." It is dated the twentieth day of July, A.D. 1818, and signed Oliver Wolcott. There is an embossed paper seal of the State of Connecticut, evidently hand-cut with serrations around its edge, and affixed to the document. It is a printed form document, on cream-colored paper, with blanks filled in by hand, and hand signed by Wolcott. It is folded multiple times, and has separated into two halves. A blank section of one of these halves is also separated, but present. There is evidence that the two halves were taped together at one time..

Description:
1875 1ed Jules Verne From the Earth to the Moon Astronauts SciFi Space Gun ClubJules Verne's adventure novels are some of the most popular and famous works of literature of all time. Part of the illustrious 'Voyages Extraordinares' series, his book 'From the Earth to the Moon' is one of the most influential works of science-fiction of the 19th-century. It tells the story of American weapon makers attempting to build an enormous space gun big enough to launch people onto the moon! According to Barron, this book is
"the first interplanetary novel to focus on the technical and organizational preparations for the voyage, using the actual blast-off as a climax…one of the definitive foundation stones of the science fiction genre."
This first Hetzel edition was published in Paris.
