New York: The Series Publishers. Near Fine. 1944. Hardcover. Part I, Fish (author: Samuel Hildebrand); Part II, Amphibians (Author, Charles Gilmore); Part III, Vertebrates (Doris Chocharan). This is volume 8 of the Smithsonian series. It is bound in brown simulated leather with elaborate gilt cover and spine decorations and lettering. The top edge is gilt, and the foredge and bottom edge are deckled (rough cut). There are no owner bookplates or owner names in the book. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, and it appears to have been unread. ; Smithsonian Series Series; B&W & Color Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 383 pages .
