It was the first day of the Battle of The Somme and the British suffered nearly 60,000 casualties. This is account of that fateful day. Well illustrated throughout, with b/w photographs and hand-drawn maps. CONDITION: Used, very good. Light shelf wear, slight marks and very light tanning, commensurate with age. No inscriptions. Binding very good.
