Cape Town: Howard Timmins, 1970. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Blue cloth with silver lettering to spine in a simple pictorial dw, black/white plates. Limited edition being number 590 of 1000. The regimental history of the First City of Grahamstown Volunteers. The personal copy/from the library of the Regt.'s Commanding Officer (variously from 1930 - 1946) W. D. Wood's brother. Included are a series of press cuttings, mainly obituaries and a small Christmas card dated 1917 issued by the Royal Flying Corps complete with Cadet Wood's printed name. A rare item and good association copy. Dw is generally quite tatty with some minor loss at head and tail; and a small damp stain to the lower bottom front that extends onto the book itself as a slight stain without any damage.
