With light edgewear a long the edges and the corners, it is 99.90 complete except it does not have the fold out Reviews from inside front flap (my other one listed does). Description:
Amsterdam: Chez Zacharie Chatelain, 1728. Complete in 5 parts (various paginations) with frontispiece and 242 half-page engravings by Henri Cause, many based on those of François Chauveau. There also are attractiveengraved tailpieces following many of the fables. The 5th part of the Fables is not included in many editions; so this more complete edition is quite desirable. Recently and sympathetically rebound in full leather with the original spine and front & rear panels laid down. Internally clean with only an occasional hint of foxing; small chips out of margins of 5 leaves, not affecting text or images. In all, a very nice example of this scarce book, an early, delightfully illustrated French-language presentation of La Fontaine's fables.. Early Printing. Hardcover. Collectible-Very Good. Illus. by Henri Cause. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Book.

Tall, slim 8vo: [8],39,[1]pp. Original black cloth, spine titled in gold; jacket printed in gray and black, priced $2. About Fine (lettering to spine occasionally rubbed); slight toning to jacket's spine panel, crown of spine nicked, else exceptionally well-preserved. Gallup A43. A total of 4,165 copies were printed, but 3,777 destroyed because the margins were incorrectly set, because of unskilled wartime labor. The remaining 788 copies, of which this is one, were issued as review copies and to preserve copyright. Collects four interrelated poems published separately over the previous three years. Fine copy of the first edition, first printing, in the Publisher's original decorated cloth with the title label applied to the front board and the title and author label applied to the spine panel (the spine shows some minor sunning, most notably to the spine label due to the dust jacket cut out -- see below, and the boards show some minor corner rubs; multiple pages are unopened, or are only partially opened, on their leading fold, showing the book to have been only partially read -- or possibly entirely unread); in a Very Good + example of the EXCEEDINGLY RARE UNSOPHISTICATED dust jacket -- original to this copy of the book -- with scattered small tears and chips and with the arc over the spine label split on one side and nearly so on the other. The viewer will notice, of course, that the dust jacket is plain as it is from the period when jackets were used not to sell the book but only to keep the book clean… Read More

Description:
Santa Barbara: Capricorn Press, 1970. First Edition. Paperbound. Fine copy in printed wrappers. This copy belonged to the book’s printer Graham Mackintosh with documentation laid in. The book is in fine condition. Graham Mackintosh’s press work bibliography reads like a who's who of latter twentieth century fine publishing: Black Sparrow, Oyez, Capra, Capricorn, Cadmus, Scrimshaw (among a score or more other literary houses). Then there is, of course, Graham Mackintosh’s own influential White Rabbit Press, a basis and force for today’s best poetry. For over forty years Graham Mackintosh has made distinguished contributions to American literary and art publishing as publisher, printer, type designer, book designer, editor, and as a writer on printing. His impact can be seen from the early nineteen-sixties at the modern renaissance of poetry in its hungry, revolutionary days of mimeo chapbooks through the revival of fine press and letterpress printing, and it continues to this day.
