San Francisco: The Book Club of California, 1940. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. Title page illustration by Valenti Angelo. [San Francisco]: Printed at the Grabhorn Press for The Book Club of California, 1940. First edition, limited to 300 copies. Lawrence wrote nearly 800 poems, this book contains nine of them. They are mostly longer poems dating from late in his life during his residence in New Mexico and previously unpublished. Jeffers thought that "Fire," "Change of Life," "Reach Over" and "Eagle in New Mexico" were the best ones. Octavo. Full linen binding with a gilt-stamped spine label. A near fine copy.
