About This Item

Anson, Texas: The Western-Enterprise, 1942. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. Light blue cloth with gilt title on front cover. Worn at the spine ends and corners. Binding solid. Notes on the front free endpaper and the title page from the original owner, to whom the book was a gift from the author. Laid in is a folded promotional piece for the book, picturing the author. Several reviewers praise the author's work, with one declaring "Fingers displays the cardinal events of Biblical history with decisive language and in dramatic vividness. Events are made to march across the stage of history as characters in a drama." Another writes, "You have in our opinion done a splendid job with a view to possible filming. If this could be put on in technicolor it would be most attractive." Rev. Reuben Deaver DeWeese (1866-1942) retired from his pastorate in San Antonio, Texas and moved to Anson, Texas where he continued to study and write, this book being published in Anson the year he died. 77 pages with an Introduction by Millard Jenkins and a Preface by the author..
