Paris,: Ateliers de Réproduction Artistique,, (1880).. 13,5 x 22 cm. (margins sligthly cropped) ¶ A splendid and richly tone portrait after the Woodburytype photomechanical process which often equals true photographic prints. The technique became widely used from the mid-1870s until the early 1890s. Dorvault, the father of French 19th century pharmacy, published during is life span 9 editions (1844-1875) of his "L'Officine". In 1880 the 10th edition of this work was published posthumously, and it include the present portrait which seems to be the only portrait of Dorvault included in an editions of "L'Officine".-- (Partly some scattered light marginal staining; preserved under acids-free passepartout).
