Paris: Arnauld de Vresse, 1862. Hardcover. Very Good. [8], 329, [3] p.; 17 cm. Contemporary dark green calf spine with gilt-tooled spine title and decoration. Marbeled paper over boards. A novel partially set in England. On a preliminary page, the author thanks Docteur Duchesne-Duparc for caring for the author's father and notes that one of the characters was inspired by the doctor. Louis Lefloch was the author of Mahomet, Al Koran, Algérie: Etudes Historiques, Philosophiques et Critiques in addition to this work and several other novels. Extremely scarce. In Very Good Condition: spine slightly faded; boards are rubbed; upper corner of front board bumped; pages are slightly browning and foxed; clean and tight.
